Neonatal screening

For Hearing impairment our aim is to cover all new born in and around Kunnamkulam. On an arrange 400-500 deliveries take place in this area. Our trained technicians visit each hospital on fixed days using screening OAE/ BERA babies are screened for hearing impairment. Those who score negative are further evaluated at six months of age for confirming hearing impairment. Those found to have confirmed hearing impaired are fitted with appropriate hearing aids and speech therapy is given.
